When I heard about Singha Park in Chiang Rai, the first thought that came to my mind was is there a beer brewery inside this park. After some research, I realised that this huge piece of land has heaps to offer!! Besides tea plantation, there are restaurants, petting zoo and even sports & recreational center that offers zipline at $300 baht (less than $13 sgd)!
If you are driving along long Den Ha-Dong Mada road, it is hard to miss this park as there is a huge distinctive golden Singha logo. Spanning over 12.8km2 of land, Singha Park was previously known as Boon Rawd Farm and was used to to grow barley for beer production. But in 2012, it was transformed to an agro-tourism spot which is well visited by both tourists and the local.
There is a huge carpark near the golden lion status as well as tram services that stop at various points of interest inside the park if you are interested to visit the park. The tram ride ticket price is $100 baht per person and $50 baht for children who are shorter than 110 cm. Alternatively, you can rent a bicycle at $150 baht per hour. Forget about walking cos the park is really too huge to walk and explore the whole area.

Some of the places that the tram ride will bring you includes the fruit orchards, tea plantations and the petting zoo.
But of cos, the one that I am truly interested in was the zipline that is located at the sports & recreational center. This is also where one can do rock climbing up the 8 storey high building as well as to do some adventure rope obstacle course for children above 7 years old.
I was there on a weekday and I was the only person doing the zipline. After signing the indemnity form, I wore the harness and took a lift to level 6 to enjoy the panoramic view of park before heading 2 storeys up for the zipline.
At level 8, to be honest, one get a very good view of the park. But of cos, I was a tad scary la. Afterall, I have phobia of height.
But it happened too quick and several seconds later I was actually enjoying the view and fear was the last thing on my mind. I would highly recommend anyone to give it a try. We only live once and fear is the last thing we want to have to live a more vibrant and fulfilling life. Toward the end of the ride, it was actually slowing down and it was no longer scary. I think it was only that moment before the ride that was the scariest as the mind was running around the “what if”.
About 1 minute later, I was already at the other end of the line. There was also a pick up service to send me back to the sports & recreational center.
It was a very peaceful and scenic short ride back to the sports & recreational center. Around the area, there are also many places which includes some introduction of the hilltribe in Chiang Rai. Of cos, this is also where one can have a lot of photography opportunities.
There are also several eateries and even food trucks around. As I was there in March, it was about 35 degree in the afternoon so I chose to sit inside a cafe. However, I would love to go back again during the cooler month (Nov to Jan) to enjoy some breeze on my face while I sip into my cup of hot chocolate or coffee.
Overall, Singha Park is a very charming park with loads of activities to do. As I am someone who enjoy natural scenery, this place is perfect for me. The well maintained landscape, beautiful photospots, free Wi-Fi and all, it is good enough for one to spend half a day here if you are just looking for a very chill and relaxing holiday. Oh yes, there is no brewery here but you can still enjoy a beer or two at the cafe.
