SG50 Singapore Fashion Runway

As a second installment of SG50 Singapore Fashion Runway, Singapore’s First Rooftop Fashion Party was held at Klapsons on a Saturday few weeks ago. The event showcased local designer outfits donned by a total of 125 local models

There was also a RETAIL section at the event where guests could check out the myriad of local designer labels after each show! I am so glad that I get the chance to see the beautiful works of talented local designers here.

One of my favourite piece is the Romayne Floral Dress & Tulle Set from 1214 Alley. It is made of stretchable polyester and cotton with side pockets and can be worn 2 ways! However I was very sad that there isn’t a size for me as the label is designed for girls with UK sizes 10 to 16. Hopefully in the near future, they might consider having smaller sizes. =)

The hour long fashion runway allowed me to witness the models sashaying down the red carpet in outfits designed by aspiring designers. From 60’s inspired fashion designs by local label, Noel Caleb to adorable child model showcasing fashion label Little Qipao to Grease from the 70’s comes ALIVE here! Male models shauntered down the runway, donned in bright colours, clothes from the fashionable past by menswear label, PUDU! The night ended with exquisite evening gowns by Singlestitch for Pippin Emerald.

SG50 Singapore Fashion Runway aims to challenge Singaporeans to delve deeper into our collective memories, revisit our history, and understand our culture and heritage better to interpret Singapore’s fashion identity. Through various forms of creative expression such as daily wear, statement costumes, special occasion’s attire and even accessories, the showcases symbolize new possible frontiers of Singapore fashion. It aspires to create a world class, Singapore themed fashion statement that will bring a revolutionary outlook on the local fashion scene on an international platform.
