Remember the beautiful café, D’Good café at Holland Village? If you have not heard about it, D’good Café has recently opened its second café!! It is located at Takashimaya Shopping Centre Basement 1.
Just in case you are wondering, the theme of the interior design is still white themed but the deco is more towards british inspired.
Hence, you will see things like red telephone booth and cottage bricks wall design.
One of the more interesting thing about the place is you can now write your prayer request and drop it at the mailbox!
For drinks wise, there are quite a few very Instagram worthy drinks on the menu. The Coconut Infused Cold Brew ($9.50) is refreshing yet you can taste the profile of the Ethiopian coffee. Impressive and the dry ice effect made it very pleasing to the eyes.
Hot chocolate lovers, do give Chocolate Surprise ($7.50) a try. It is served in a sphere with a mug of hot milk. As the hot milk was poured into the cup, the chocolate sphere melted away and revealed a marshmallow. My dining mate said the chocolate was “gao” (thick enough in hokkien) and not too sweet.
If you like Dapper Coffee’s Unicorn Tears for its beautiful effect when you swirl the drink, Spiral Galaxy ($15) will impress you even more. Because one of the ingredients is blue butterfly pea flowers so you will be expecting to see the beautiful silvery hues changed into purple galaxy as the lemonade was poured into the drink.
But for $15, many might find it a little bit expensive.
Lobster lovers, you will be thrilled to find lobster spaghetti here!
Best of all, D’ Good café uses fresh maine lobster!
From the new menu, one of my favourite dish was the Scotch Egg ($13). Scotch egg is a beautiful classic dish that not many places can execute it well. However, D’good Cafe nailed this on point! Within that thin golden shell that is encasing the cumberland sausage and chorizo, there is a beautifully cooked lava egg. The slight runny egg yolk added a rich and creamy contrast to the crusty shell. Lovely!
Remember to leave some space for dessert. When D’good launched their Deutsch Skillet Pancake last year, it was very well received. You will be thrilled to find more variety of these delicious eggy pancakes added to their menu in Takashimaya. The average waiting time for these is about 30 minutes but be sure that it is worth the wait!
I think it is a blessing for many that D’ Good Cafe has opened a new space in Takashimaya. Although it is smaller than the outlet in Holland Village, a more centralised location also means it is more accessible! woohoo! Do check out the space when you are in town!
