Well Dressed Salad Bar, a hipster vegetarian cafe in Chinatown

Does the thought of having vegetarian food put you off or give you an impression that it is going to be a boring affair? I assure you that vegetarian food can be both healthy and interesting.
Nested at the heart of Chinatown, just next to Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, one can easily missed this hidden gem. Well Dressed Salad Bar has a frontage of a mix of mama shop and eatery but once you head further into the cafe, it is a totally different story. Besides a air well where the natural lighting comes in, it has some really artistic wall murals that are hand drawn by an artistic friend of Zenna, the co-founder of the cafe.
On a rotating basis, mini tartlets of different fillings are made on a very regular basis to upkeep the freshness.
Look no further if you are looking for a yummy salad! Summer lovin ($9.50) is one of my favourite salad here. It consists of ingredients such as Romaine, kidney beans, cucumber, corn tomato, sunflower seeds and slices of sweet peaches topped with homemade Mango Basil dressing. So simple yet so refreshing!
For peeps who have not tried any warm salad, Soba, so good ($12.90) could be a good start for you to have. The soba was paired with a ginger sesame sauce, seaweeds, edamame, crunchy shredded carrot, cucumber and red cabbage. For the portion served, it is value for money, healthy and yummy. No reason not to eat your greens, right?
The star of the night is definitely the Tofully Yours ($12.90). Inspired from the idea of a burger, the burger bun is replaced with tofu slices. The ingredients such as mushroom, cheese, egg and vegetarian ham are then kiap (sandwiched) between the tofu slices. So so good! Don’t miss the homemade sweet potato chips! If you don’t want, I will gladly help you finish them! ?
If the idea of having pizza made you feel fat, try the Watermelon Pizza Slice ($3.50/ slice)! Gluten free loh. There are also 2 variations to choose from, savoury or sweet. I said just have both la. Though the combination sounds weird but it works. Personally I preferred the savoury with the toppings of tofu feta. =)
Besides the above dishes, other items such as Pumpkin soup, Shakshuka and even beer (Tiger and Heineken draft for $5 only!) are served here. Do not miss the Black Pepper Monkey Head Mushroom loh, it is so so goooooooood.
If you are willing to explore beyond the not so appealing frontage, you will be greeted by surprises. One of my favourite wall mural in the shop is the one with the Tofu crossing the road. So why does Tofu want to cross the road? Find out from the friendly staff at Well Dressed Salad Bar.
