It has been a very long while since I last visited District 10. I remembered how I enjoyed a quiet afternoon at their first outlet at Winstedt road which is now relocated to UE square. Opportunity has arisen for me to revisit District 10 but now at their latest outlet at Suntec (beside Tower 2 office lobby). Things are different now that District 10 has expanded to having 5 different outlets and each has a theme of its own. For Suntec outlet, it is a bar and grill concept with dry aged beef! Any beef lover out there? The holy grail is served here!
The media tasting started off with a round of complimentary bread served with balsamic vinegar and olive oil on the side. Although the complimentary bread is made in house with sun dried tomato, I am not a huge fan of the bread served here. As it is slightly too dry for my liking. Never mind that as we eagerly awaits the star of the bar!

Vitello Tonnato, thinly sliced Roasted Veal Loin with Light Tuna sauce (S$24) |
While the beef was sent to the kitchen to grill, starters were served. This is an interesting combination with a more prominent taste of the tuna. While I like how thinly sliced the veal loin is, the taste of the tuna sauce doesn’t really work well for me. It is a tad too salty but the the addition of the beautiful tomatoes give the dish a touch of sweetness. I guess if you are a tuna lover, this might be your kind of dish.

Puglia Burratina with organic cherry tomato-basil bruschetta ($26) |
This is one of my favourite of the night. While the exterior of the burratina is a solid mozzarella, the inside contains both mozzarella and cream. This unique texture complement very well with other components on the plate and make it a very delightful starter to have. I particularly like the organic cherry tomatoes which are specially imported from Australia. It is super sweet.

Butter lettuce salad with pancetta, hazelnut, gorgonzola, and egg ($20) |
Another delightful starter with panacetta aka Italian pork belly bacon. While the normal bacon that we usually have is smoked meat, panacetta is cured meat. Thus there is a pleasant saltiness found in the pancetta without any smokiness. Personally I like blue cheese and gorgonzola is a kind of Italian unveined blue cheese made from unskimmed cow’s milk. I like the creamy texture with a tad of saltiness from the blue veining. So when all the components combined together, it is a very delightful salad for me. Although it is not as healthy as it seems, but sinful food is usually delicious isn’t it? Hack it, diet starts yet again on another day. lol

45 Days Home Dry Aged Corn Fed US Prime Traditional Florentina Steak($22 per 100g/ Min order 800g) |
With a final touch of a spinkle of salt and pepper, beef was served. This is indeed one of the better beef that I have tasted. With a slightly char exterior and a moist interior. I particularly enjoyed the OP ribs which has a milder flavour while still being moist and tender. For peeps who enjoy a little more flavour, you can opt for the Florentina cut.

Paradise Valley Free Range Canadian Pork Chop ($34) |
Besides beef, there are also other options such as lamb chop, chicken, scallop pasta…etc for non beef eater. We have the privilege to try the Canadian Pork Chop as J is a non beef eater. Haha. But I guess she is missing out on the star at District 10 Suntec outlet. I like how the pork chop doesn’t leave me with a porky pig taste in my mouth but it is a tad drier than I would like it to be.

Creamy Truffle Mash ($14) |
For the sides, do not miss the creamy truffle mash. With tiny bits of potato mixed in with some chives and topped with REAL truffle. This dish simply made other truffle dishes using truffle oil seem so overpriced. Yes, so tuck in to this creamy truffle mash the next time you are here. The only complain that I might have is the chives seem to be added in too generously.

Bitter chocolate – marshmallow fluff with caramelized banana ($14) |
When I saw banana, it is almost an immediate turn off but the dessert is well executed! The richness of the dark chocolate sat on top of a crunchy digestive biscuit base and topped with creamy torched mashmallow simply pleased the chocolate lover inside me. YUMZ.

Double espresso pannacotta with vanilla sauce ($12) |
As opposed to how it looks, this is totally a must order for any coffee lover. In fact, it is one of my favourite dessert of the night. Made with double espresso, you can be sure that you get your dose of caffeine fix while enjoying the dessert. Best of the both worlds for coffee lovers! The melt in the mouth texture of the panna cotta simply leaves me craving for more! The addition of the chocolate crunch is a brilliant idea from the chef to give the dessert a good textural finish.

Profiterole filled with chestnut, served with warm chocolate sauce |
We ended the night with beautiful tower of profiteroles. While I like the balance from the chestnut filling, not too sweet, but the flavour of the chestnut is not too prominent.
Overall, it was one of the more enjoyable tasting that I have with the great company and awesome food. While there are some misses, generally the food quality here is top notch for the price that tagged to it. So do check out this place out if you are in for a night of delicious dry aged beef. There are also a huge selection of wine for you to choose from.
