Kedai Minunam Kok Yow Yong 霍有用凉茶(祖传秘方)

JB Liang Teh-2
The recent sweltering weather has been crazy and causing people to fall under the weather. As a chinese, I strongly believe in Liang Teh aka Chinese Herbal Tea. During one of my JB food hunting session with Hazel, we passed by Kedai Minunam Kok Yow Yong 霍有用凉茶(祖传秘方)which is located at the Junction of Jalan Trus and Jalan Pasar while walking to EHHE Cafe.

JB Liang Teh
When it comes to the frontage, it might not be one with any impressive deco but wow this is actually a liang teh shop that has been around for more than a century!
JB Liang Teh-8
The nice popo (granny) who is running the place shared that the liang teh recipe was passed down from her grandparents and they have been using really good ingredients to brew their liang teh. Hence they are very popular among the locals, chinese and other races alike.
JB Liang Teh-3
There are 2 kinds of liang teh available. You can either choose the SUPER bitter one which looked really orh lu lu (dark in hokkien) or you can choose the sweeter version which is made using Chrysanthemum. I have tried the bitter one and oh my tian, I can easily say that it is one of the most bitter beverage that I have ever drank in my life. Super regretted! Should have chosen the other one.

With the crazy weather, you can also opt for the iced version which is both refreshing and thirst quenching!
JB Liang Teh-6
So the next time when you are cafe hopping near Jalan Trus area, do drop by for your cup of healthy beverage! You can also opt to have some powdered chinese medicine to be added into your liang teh if you are not feeling well. I heard it works miracles but I have yet to try. Do share with me if you have tried the added chinese medicine version. =)
