If you have not heard about it, former Traders Hotel has undergone an extensive SGD45million makeover to transform into Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore (今旅旅馆). In the month of December 2015 has seen the launch of Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore’s two new dining outlets situated in the freshly refurbished lobby level. J65 -the all-day dining restaurant has a South-East Asian market feel, while the artisan inspired Jen’s Kitchen On-the-Go will offer locally roasted coffee and snacks, 24 hours a day.
Pssssss.. Hotel Jen Tangling is also one of the only hotels in Singapore to offer nett pricing in F&B outlets! Yay to no GST or service charge. Mind you, that is 17% savings ok.
J65, a name inspired by the Singapore international dialing code (+65), is opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was invited to one of the dinner buffet session and blessed me, it happened to be the Hooked! -Seafood Dinner (Thurs to Sat)! When I arrived at the revamped space, I was totally wowed by the deco here. So contemporary and so pretty! Too bad, my instagram gf is busy working if not, I would want her to help me take heaps of OOTD! lol
MY first station was the seafood section. OMG!!! Can you imagine me with the face full of glee? Unlimited amount of seafood!!! Fresh Fin de Claire oysters, tiger prawns, Boston lobster and Sri Lankan crab!!!! Yes, free flow!!! Super fresh selection loh. Highly recommended if you like fresh unlimited serving of seafood. For friends on diet, there is a variety of salads such as Roast Pumpkin and Beetroot, Kale with Quinoa and Banana Flower Salad, grilled veg sandwiches, quiches, soups, sashimi and sushi. Don’t need to cringe at any limited selection of salad as the variety and quality of salads are good enough to bring a smile to any green leafy lover’s face.
Besides Hainanese Chicken Rice, there are six versions of Laksa and generously portioned Hong Kong BBQ serving up. I have tried the Sarawak laksa and the tom yum laksa. Both the laksa broths were flavourful but the later one won by heart with that tangy fiery punch. 
There is also a selection of South East Asian Hot dishes serving up. Spotted any that you like? The Baked Scallop is da yum too!
Next up, was the craving station. Totally in love with the mushroom here that was well seasoned with rosemary and salt. Super addictive. There are also a spread from pork knuckles to roasted ribs and lamb. My favourite amongst them was the grilled whole salmon. The seasoning was simple but spot on and the salmon was moist and perfectly cooked! Eat up to more omega 3! =D
There is also a dessert table that has ang moh dessert to the asian kueh kueh. If that is not enough to satisfied your sweettooth, there are chocolate fondue fountain, homemade puddings and ice cream too. The introduction of NETT pricing means no unpleasant surprises on the final bill. Sounds good? 
I guess one of the things that I love about dining here is the service crew was quite attentive with dirty plates cleared away promptly. For those who are not driving, there is a shutter bus that does pick up to and fro Orchard MRT (near Wisma Taxi Stand). I have took it from Hotel Jen back to Orchard MRT and it took less than 10 mins and the shutter bus was quite comfy as well.
Overall it is a pleasant experience dining at J65 with the wide selection of items to choose from. A plus point while dining here is the super fast free WiFi that is available here. There is also an USB charging station and unlimited fruit infused water for the public. There is so much love from the interior to little details such as fuss free usage of free wifi. I would definitely be back again!
