Chef Bjorn Shen x Butchers Club Burger

Butchers Club SingaporeIt is been a month since the opening of the famous Hongkong burger concept eatery, The Butchers Club Burger in Singapore. Bringing over Hongkong collaboration series, Singapore’s first A Burger Takeover episode one kick-started on 4th November with a familiar name, Chef Bjorn Shen. Well known for his unique F&B concepts, Bird Bird,  Artichoke and Neh Neh Pop, Chef Bjorn has came out with a unique chicken patty burger with a Thai twist, The Bird Slayer Grapow!

_-5Inspired by Thai Sweet Basil Chicken, the juicy oversized minced chicken thigh patty with scallions was topped with crispy fried chicken skins to give the burger some texture. Together with mildly spicy Thai basil relish, which I spotted long beans, chilli, garlic and onion for that sought after unmami, were the heat, fried egg with runny yolk, the chicken patty sandwiched between those slightly browned Butchers Club Burger’s specialty buns. With all the components coming together so cohesively, it made all resistance almost zero in existence. I finished the whole burger by myself though my heavy lunch from earlier was still undigested! _ Not to forget that vodka based cocktail, Thai Tingle, was specially concocted to pair with the Bird Slayer Grapow! With fresh red apple juice to give the cocktail the sweetness, lemongrass to make it refreshing, elderflower liquor for the floral note at the back of the tongue, my dining partner commented that this is the kind of drinks that would win the ladies’ heart. butchers club at clarke quat The Bird Slayer Grapow is priced at $23 and 10% of the sale of each burger will be donated to Chef Bjorn’s chosen charity, Save Our Street Dogs. Do note that the Bird Slayer Grapow will be on the Secret Menu for two weeks (till 17th November 2015) only! So catch it before the 17th cos this is definitely one of the best chicken burger that I have ever tasted in Singapore. ๐Ÿ˜
