Product Review: Tilley Australia Reed Diffuser and Soy Candle

I am always a person who is attracted to scents and aromatherapy. Don’t you love how pleasant smelling your living space is, especially after a long day at work? Thus I am always on the lookout for things to make my room a more sweet smelling one. Recently I am blessed to receive Tilley Peony Rose Diffuser ($65) and Tilley Peony Rose Soy Candle ($55) from Lin’s Australia to do just that. =)

Under Lin’s Australia, there are 15 different types of reed diffusers to suit different preferences. Depending on the usage, the reed diffuser is able to last up to 6 months.
The reed diffuser arrived in a beautiful white packaging with 10 diffusing reeds. Depending on how strong you like the fragrance to be, you can customise the strength of the fragrance in your living space by adjusting the number of reeds you put into essential oil. The reed will absorb the essential oil and diffuse it throughout the space.
After removing the stopper from the glass bottle, simply put some reeds into the bottle and place it at a corner of the room to let it slowly diffuse. Being kiasu as per usual, I put 5 diffusing reeds into the essential oil. Unlike some diffusers in the market, the scent is not too overpowering and does not come to you like a punch in the face. Neither is it too faint that you could hardly smell it at all. I like how it subtly turn my living space into a better smelling and looking one (not that my living space is smelly… But one could do better isn’t it?). On days that you want a refresh of fragrance, simply flip the reeds to enjoy the extra whiff of the beautiful floral scent.

Tilley Peony Rose Candle is hand poured and made with premium soy wax and a lead-free cotton wick. Thus it can burn cleanly without leaving behind a burning smell or soot in the air.

With the slow burning lead-free cotton wick, the soy candle can last up to 45 hours.

I use it on nights that I want to create a romantic stay-at-home date with my partner over a glass of wine. Besides giving out a lovely sweet floral scent, it also add a touch of elegance to the night. As compared to the reed diffuser, it is slightly stronger. However it does not leave you feeling that it is very harsh and in your face.
Personally, I like the smell of the soy candle more. Although it has a similar smell like the reed diffuser, it is not as sweet.
According to the box, for best result, it is best not to use for more than 2 or 3 hours at a time. Please also do note to burn it on heat resistant surface cos after a while the frosted glass container will turn a bit hot. I guess at the end of the day, you do not wish to leave an unsightly mark on the surface that you are burning the candle on.
Overall, I like the packaging of the reed diffuser and the soy candle. Besides leaving me feeling uplifted with a sweet floral scent, it added a touch of beautiful class to my otherwise boring living space. It is also good to know that Tilley has about 150 years (established in 1865 in Melbourne) of history and a certified organic production facility. Do share with me your experience if you have tried Tilley’s reed diffuser or soy candle. 🙂
P.s. I made a mental note to consider the products for housewarming and other festive gifts.
