Hearth & Heat buffet at The Carvery

It is almost a no brainer for me to have the buffet at The Carvery in Park Hotel Alexandra when I am craving for a protein loaded meal. Seriously who can resist their 3 metre long craving station? I can’t! So when I get to know about the Hearth & Heat that will be running every Fri, Sat and Sun till 30th June, I was super elated! Besides the regular buffet, a myriad of premium meats and dishes will be roasted and cooked over a brand new Argentinian Grill! Sounds good, right? Stay with me as I share with you more.

Basically, there are 2 varieties of firewood (Hickory and Mesquite) that are used to give the meat their special unique aroma. While Hickory gives the meat a medium smokiness and complements with lamb and beef, Mesquite is stronger and works well with beef, poultry and even fish.

One of the items that is not to be missed is the Hickory Pulled Pork Bun. The pork leg was slow cooked with bone in over the wood-fired oven till tender and moist before it is pulled apart and seasoned with the homemade Hickory Barbecue sauce. Served with deep fried bun and apple slaw, this is like a match in heaven. Flavoursome, juicy and the apple slaw gave a lovely contrasting texture.

Besides the Hickory Pulled Pork Bun, you can also get to try the succulent Argentinian Ribeye, Australian Lamb Shoulder, Honey Lemon Chicken, BBQ Bean Stew and Charred Leek Soup that were cooked over the New Argentinian woodfire grill at the Hearth & Heat buffet.

Oh yes, don’t forget to try the woodfire grilled roots! The carrots and asparagus were so good! I like how the smokiness added some depth of flavours to the roots.

Well, if you are a pineapple lovers, LIVE LIVE must try the grilled Honey Pineapple! It is good on its own or you can have it with some cinnamon sugar or vanilla sauce at the side. I find that after going through the grill, the pineapple slices has been infused with the smokiness from the firewood and the heat elevated the nature sweetness of the pineapple which made it rather irresistible. One of my dining partner even has a whole plate of it to himself. Enough said!

Beer lovers, rejoice! The buffet includes a glass of Asahi beer and if you are looking at having more than a glass, there are 5 different types of beer available at a promotional price of $5++ per bottle!

Mind you, these are all on top of the the regular buffet items! So don’t miss it! The Hearth & Heat buffet which is available every Fri, Sat and Sun ($52++/ adult for Sat & Sun Lunch; $62++/ adult for Fri, Sat & Sun Dinner) till 30th June! You can even choose to dine alfresco by the infinity pool. Don’t say I bo jio.
